Desired Profile Job Overview
An Engineer with experience on HP OpenView tools, experience in a mission critical infrastructure. 3-5 years of relevant strong hands-on experience in similar activities and tools administration & monitoring.
Monitoring and administration of HP OpenView Monitoring environments; work in Monitoring projects and fulfill service requests.

Key Functions & Responsibilities
Operational
o Implement new HP OpenView systems and related third party products in a complex environment
o Protect messages and alarms against loss and destruction
o Analyze customer’s varying requirements and configure the system accordingly
o Perform trouble shooting and subsequent problem analysis
o Generate, test and implement sustainable solutions for problems
o Apply vendor patches (security and bug fixes)
o Create HP OpenView Agents packages and scripts for administrative purposes
o Create statistics and reports
o Document system and changes
o Create operational standards and perform operational acceptance of new monitoring systems
o Consulting for operational teams regarding the possibilities of security monitoring
Developmental Ongoing
o Identify potential service improvements (improve quality, reduce costs)
o Deliver the input for business cases
o Prepare, implement and document changes
o To keep updated about the latest technologies, development and solutions.
o Deployment Strategy and universal rollout plan without any disruption and distraction to the business
Skills:
• Ability to understand monitoring environment & project requirements.
• Should have 0-1 year experience in scripting languages such as Perl/Shell
• Should have 1-2 years of UNIX & Windows administration
• Should have basic knowledge of Networking concepts and protocols
• Should have ability to manage production and non-production environments
• Good hands-on experience in Technology migration and maintenance of Infrastructure, OS and applications
• Good hands-on of 2-3 years of experience on tools such as:
• HP OVO,
• HP NNM,
• HP OVPI,
• HP OVPM,
• HP BAC (Vugen scripting)
• Microsoft MoM
• NerveCenter
• Midas
• IP Check
• Vcenter (basic knowledge)
• Basic Database knowledge
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT, Word)
• Basic knowledge of ITIL concepts
• Good Analytical & Troubleshooting skills
• Experience in Leading Teams
• University degree
• Preferably >3 years experience as a monitoring administrator
• Excellent understanding of operational procedures and processes
• Very good analytical skills
• Good Communication skills & Fluent English (written/spoken)
• Good Presentation & documentation skills
• Proven track record in executing services into European countries
