Job Description:
Roles and Responsibilities
1. The Desktop Engineer will act as the single point of contact to the customer/users for all IT related requirements.
2. He will be responsible for providing first level support on Desktops, Peripherals, Servers and Office automation products.
3. For first level administration of desktops, Laptops etc.
4. Troubleshooting - Applications and Operating Systems.
5. Log all the calls, assign it to engineers, track it till closure, and update the user.
6. Escalate as per the escalation chart, follow up with vendor.
7. Keeping track of inventory in stock, inventory in use update asset data as per the process defined
Desired Candidate Profile:
Job Title : Desktop Engineer
Experience: 1-3yrs
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Age Criteria: Candidates should not be older than 25 years.
2.Education: BCA/ BCom/BSC/3 years Diploma (Full time only) with minimum 50% . B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech candidates need not apply.
3.Please ensure you have all the documents related to your education and employment since there will be a background check if selected.
Skills Required:
Should have experience in administering the Desktop, Laptops, Servers and Backup & Peripherals.
Should be able to troubleshoot on Applications, Operating System etc.
Should have relevant experience in installation and support of Windows NT/2000/XP etc. Good working knowledge e of Active Directory, Group Policies, WINS, DNS, DHCP,Windows Terminal Server,TCP/IP Networking knowledge etc.
Knowledge of Network Infrastructure - Hardware, Software, Ethernet Cabling, Ports, IP addresses, NAT boxes. Knowledge of Imaging - Ghost or equivalent.
Should have excellent inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to deal with users at all levels in an organization.
Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
Manage time and effort effectively.
Be self-motivated and goal-oriented.
Be able to communicate complex technological issues and solutions to coworkers and to upper management.
Have a strong sense of customer service.
Should also be flexible for long working hours and working in shifts
